I now work as a contractor at Pratt & Whitney Canada through Select Recruiting here in Lethbridge. P & WC makes airplane engines. COOL! I wish I could say that I'm one of the technicians that get to assemble these engines but I'm not quite that lucky. So while I'm waiting for my career to start as a Tech I'm working in the Unpack/Materials Dept. I spend my 10.5 hour days unpacking parts, verifying serial numbers, receiving shipments from Purolator and others, stocking the shelves with said shipments, cleaning engine trays, sweeping and compacting cardboard. I really enjoy it. There is enough variety and interesting parts to look at and learn about to keep me interested. It's full time work, with 4 days off between shift blocks, and it's hopefully a "foot in the door" to getting on as a Tech, which is what I think my ultimate goal at this point is.
I haven't quit my job at the city, so I still work there occasionally but I admit it's quite nice not having to rely on those hours alone.
I've really enjoyed cooking lately. I never thought I would say something like that. I used to hate cooking and Mom can attest the fact that I usually tried to avoid it. Now, I love it. I like trying new recipes, being thrilled when they work, crying when they don't and basically enjoying the fact that Drew and I are able to eat good meals regularly.
I've been doing a lot of knitting and puzzle assembling lately, oh and I've been watching Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman which has been most wonderful. I laugh, I cry, it's my childhood show which I'm loving watching as an adult. I sit curled up in my chair, pick up my knitting and wait to see what new adventure Dr. Mike will get herself into this time.
Drew and I are getting into the routine of us both working, coordinating meals and hang out times. It will be interesting once I go onto evenings at P & WC as there will be a couple of weeks where we will only see each other in passing between the hours of 1:30am and 6:30am. Therefore, we won't really "see" each other but more so be in the other's presence for a couple of hours. I'm not really looking forward to it...

Knitting, cooking, aircraft construction. I was going to make a joke about the 'domestication' of marriage but then the idea that one day you'll be putting together planes sort of killed that joke in it's tracks...
